Integration Theories of International Organizations

Theories pave the way for practical establishment to come forth. The analysis and comprehension of theories are the first steps to achieving any form of development, either personally or within society. This essay highlights the main properties of the six integration theories of International Relations, specifically under the International Organizations strand. Integration ideologies refer to those notions that propose reorganization, restructuring, or simply the creation of an international organization, group, or community. Throughout this thesis, I will analyze the following integration theories: Functionalism, Neo-functionalism, Inter-governementalism, Customs Union, optimal Currency area, and finally, Fiscal Federalism. However, before a thorough discussion of each integration theory is pursued, I will first assess their importance in society. Integration theories are notions with varying characteristics; nevertheless, regardless of how unique each theory may be, their esse...

Analysis of Social Work Ethics and Values

In layman’s terms, social work means striving for social good and social justice. Sometimes social work requires those who strive for these ends to place other people’s needs before their own. But for a much more discrete definition, the International Federation of Social Workers (2021) defines social work as working in communities with people to find positive outcomes in the challenges they encounter. Social work allows people to build their desired environment to live in. Gazzola (1998) describes social workers as unsung heroes, people who have chosen the noble profession of "helping" others. Casual help is a natural and humane act, but choosing to help others as a profession begs a lot of questions. What are the underlying factors that influence the latter action? What allows or guides social workers to continue to help people diligently? These questions act as guides to the aim of this paper. The aim of this thesis is to analyze ethics and values and assess how they are...

Policy Reciew: National Climate Compatible Development Management Policy (2014)

Introduction The National Climate Compatible Development Management Policy (NCCDMP) was introduced in 2014. It is a document that outlines PNG’s climate change management strategy. Essentially, the NCCDMP focuses on providing a framework for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change activities while simultaneously providing a space for development activities that are climate-friendly. This review will assess the positive and negative aspects of the NCCDMP and, based on that, make recommendations. Summary The main agenda of the NCCDMP is to ensure that PNG has a strategic and sustainable mechanism in place to react to climate change issues that may arise. Climate change cannot be avoided or stopped; its effects transcend national borders, which is why it requires a global effort through alliances among states and multinational corporations to reduce its effects. At the national level, the NCCDMP ensures that PNG has a system to manage the effects of climate change. The p...
